The Lagos Magistrate court, Igbosere yesterday arraigned a Septuagenerian and three others who allegedly stole Chivita goods worth N15.7million
The defendants are Aghafua Sunday 71 Akinbobola Isiaka 57, Arogundade Idowu 46 and Ahmed Waheed 33.
The are standing trial on a two count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing preferred against them by the Police.
The prosecutor Inspector Francis Igbinosa informed the court that the defendants and others still at large conspired amongst themselves to commit the alleged offence.
He said the incident occurred on December, 2, 2016, at Ajao Estate Lagos.
Igbinosa said the stolen Chivita goods was worth N15, 695,016.70million , property of one Sufedo Heritage.
"The goods was meant to be transported to Sokoto, but the defendants, diverted the goods to Ibadan".
According to Igbinosa the offence is Punishable under Sections 411and 287 (7) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The defendants however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate K.B Ayeye granted them bail in the sum of N500,000, each with two sureties each in like sum.
She said that the sureties must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State government and have their addresses verified.
The case was adjourned till October 31, for mention.
