Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the killing of Funke Olakunrin who is the daughter of Chief Reuben Fasoranti.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in a series of tweets on Friday, July 12 urged security operatives to investigate the killing of the daughter of the leader of the socio-cultural Yoruba group, Afenifere.
Atiku described the killing as one too many and asked security operatives to tackle these killings.
He wrote: “My family and I stand shoulder to shoulder with you at this trying time, even as we pray for the repose of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin’s soul. Peace must return to Nigeria, by every means possible. Enough of this. Enough of this!”
Femi Joseph who is the police spokesperson in the state confirmed the tragic incident.
He said the kidnappers also engage in armed robbery.
The police said three vehicles were attacked by the kidnappers and that one of the passengers, Gerald Igboroka was yet to be found by the police.
